Are changes in the system helping or not helping to make justice more effective?

The year 2017 was marked by the digitalisation of the justice system as the public service sector, digitalisation of the  enforcement documents, followed by the wake of the now digitalised case file, digital communication between attorneys and courts and computer-generated reminders. The Commercial Code of the Slovak Republic also underwent significant changes regarding the liability of statutory corporate board members and shareholders, with the aim to prevent asset stripping at companies, improve the enforceability of claims and make it more difficult for commercial law institutes to engage in fraudulent activities.

During a workshop session of the 2018 Law Forum, held at the Hotel DoubleTree by Hilton in Bratislava on 10 April 2018, the firm partner JUDr.  Peter Štrpka, PhD took part in a discussion about the amendments to the Commercial Code. There were several thoughts about the current situation discussed during the session, with attempts to formulate proposals perceived in practice as necessary to eliminate weaknesses in the current Code.
