DISCUSSION HELD ON THE CURRENT TOPIC OF JUDICIARY

Is corruption in the judiciary a systemic failure, a failure of individuals, or an image of the society as a whole? How can corruption in the judiciary be combated? How should redress work, including earning back general trust?

The above discussion on the judiciary, which took place on November 19, 2019 at the Comenius University Law School, was moderated by its Dean, associate prof. JUDr. Eduard Burda, PhD., with the other attendees being prof. JUDr. Jozef Čentéš, PhD., a representative of the CU Law School, JUDr. Katarína Javorčíková from the Open Judiciary initiative and also the partner in the SOUKENÍK - ŠTRPKA law firm and the chairman of the disciplinary committee of the Slovak Bar Association, JUDr. Peter Štrpka, PhD.
